Pneumatic reciprocating saw to remove rust?

I have to remove rust from my left rear quarter panel and am debating which tools to use. Hopefully you can help. Last night at Home Depot I was looking at a Husky pneumatic reciprocating saw. It can cut up to 5000 strokes per minute. Will this work or should I consider a different tool? Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, your tool will work in most cases. The problem you may run into is if there isn't room for the saw blade to work.

I usually depend on a die grinder with a cut-off wheel.

I use a small air grinder with a thin grinding wheel and an air hammer with a sheetmetal chisel to cut out my rust. The recip saw will work given you don't start cutting through the inner panels in behind.

I second the vote for a cut off wheel. Mine worked great when fixing rust on an escort, and it will carve up pretty much everything in short order.
