I really enjoyed Gone in 60 seconds too...
Here's a little trivia-- In the remake, they used either 4 or 5 GT500's( I can't remember), however in the original there was only one Mach 1 mustang used through out the entire movie. Keep in mind that the original "Gone in.." had a 40 minute chase and a 30 foot high 128 ft jump that Eleanor was driven away from(although the stunt driver suffered a compressed spine upon impact
) I thought that was pretty impressive...

I have the original movie here in the 25th Anniversary remake.
If you're interested they are $26(Canadian).
The release date for the original was 1974 by H.B.Halicki
These days it would be classed as a "C" movie instead of a "B" movie back then.
This is definitely a CULT film.
Is is close to Amateur Documentary quality by today's film standards
Now,
1)> There were TWO Mach I Mustangs used in the movie.
The Cars were 1973 Mach I's not 74's
2)1st one was replaced at the Car Wash scene. A duplicate car just got washed,he left the half demolished one in the line-up to get washed.
3) 1974 was the first years for the Mustang II

Not Quite
Instead of revving while going into 2nd < you give a quick rev while in neutral and while the rev's are coming down you FEEL the gear into 2nd then let the clutch out.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I don't know what you call the shifting without the clutch at normal acceleration, not power shifting, although I have done it for fun just to see if I could. It's a learned art, and not too good on the synchros.
Winford
Logan
>push in clutch
>put in 1
>let out clutch(not dump just normal operation)
>push in clutch
>take out of 1 into nuetal
>let clutch out
>nudge throttle to get rpms up
>push in clutch
>slide into 2
BODDA BOOM BODA BING you just double clutched!!
thats how all the old truckers do it double up and down
as far as shifting without using the clutch most truckers i know only use the clutch when starting off from a dead stop i know i never use it in semis once i get moving and i have always heard it called glidding or floating
if im wrong in any of this please let me know
That's how I did it got 24 years.
Btw, Did you get that Taz I sent you ?

i find it affective and heard from other people as well to
1) shift out of gear with out using the clutch, and
2) just as your out 1st and not quit in second push the clutch in
if you time it just right you push the clutch in just enough to get
into gear(i.e. no grinding like untimed clutchless) and then dump it while ur still in the gas alittle.
