I know this was discussed back when the predator first came out, but its been a while now. Has any tech out there seen the predator throw codes...or has anyone been cold busted by a dealer who figured out that there had been a programmer in the truck, despite taking the predator out before visiting the dealer?
I am really only interested in the predator...as that is the one I want to buy. I really want one....but have been very hesitant ever since that guy from Virginia had to buck up for a 13k engine!!!

Read the entire post, it will give you more insight as to what happened.
Yeah...
LEAVING the module on the truck and the serious damage caused by the OTHER tricks has a lot more to do with it than the predator :-)
I keep the predator in the center console all the time...
and go back to stock when I need to...
but have not had any indication that any codes are left other than the p603 KAM code which says the battery cables have been disconnected...
And I am obsessive about keeping MY battery cables clean :-)

I dont understand the problem with the p603 code. After using the predator to restore the factory tune, why can't you then use it to clear the p603 code? Or can it only clear codes that have resulted in the check engine light coming on?
Sorry... didn't finish my thought....
or really I finished my thought - just not my typing
it DOES leave the p603 but it CAN be cleared...
right now, the only codes I have in there are the EGR codes because I've disconnected my EGR plug....
they can be cleared, but they just come back after another run with the egr disconnected....
but my feelings are that disconnecting the EGR gives e more benifit than issues....

I am going to get the Predator as well, but was wondering the same thing. If you can clear codes with the Pred, then why not just clear the p603 code? Or does this happen after a certain # of cold starts?
Wrong Tim....
just shows that I am even MORE short-sighted than we thought :-)
Morning gentlemn !
Bob - I invited you to the drags tonight via email, but my daughters coming for a visit so not sure....
(but she drives faster than me, so maybe we can have some "quality time"... like about 9.5 seconds at a time !)

When I do the "Restore Original" on my truck, I get no codes at all. Not even the p603. There may be some variances on vehicle flashes etc. Just clear the code and drive it for a couple days before taking it in.
