I already asked this at the 66-77 bronco forums, but no answers yet, so now it's your guys turn-does anyone know of a source for 4v clevland headers in an early bronco???
Are you talking heads (the block of iron that holds the valves), or headers (big tubular exhaust manifolds). If you're looking for factory 4bbl heads good luck, if your looking for headers check out the online store, www.summitracing.com, www.jegs.com
The only headers so far that we early Bronco guys have found for a Cleveland in the 66-77 are the Sanderson FC3s. They are for a 4V head, so you should be in business there. They make a copper gasket to use those headers on 2V heads. I'm going to have a guy here at work waterjet me some 1/8" flanges to adapt them to 2Vs. Sanderson sells them in bare metal and coated:
just run puller headers, easier to put on, and take off, but I suppose you want to run this on the street. Is that the engine you were asking about the aussie heads for?
I've already got a set of 4v headers for a 71-73 stang that i can salvage the flanges and make my own zoomies if I have to, but I wanted to know what my other options were first. I was wanting aussie heads for a 400 I might be putting together and want some more compression. Recently my dad decided he wanted to start mud racing at Osceola, I have an 80's bronco found for him and was thinking of putting together a 351w for it using parts I have collected, but that will rob two other projects of engine parts. So the new trailriding rig could get a nice torquey 400 and the 67 bronco mud racer will get regeared with 4.56's and a 4v cleveland I can get for $400.
CJJTulsa- do those FC3's fit without any modifications?? I see they are not specifically for broncos but as a block hugger street rodder header.
The only real thing I've heard is that the engine will have to be spaced up about 1/2 inch on the passenger side to clear the frame rail. I know of about 3 people who've done it, and I have a set coming I bought off of a guy on another board. I haven't done the Cleveland swap yet, but have been slowly accumulating parts so I can one day.

I'm not sure why you would need an adapter. Their online catalog says those headers are for 2V and 4V heads. I bolted my FC-3 headers on last week to my 2V heads and they fit up just fine. Unless I am totally clueless about something, they don't pose a problem for my '71 400
Are you using US or Aussie heads? From what I understand, the US 2V head has less meat around the exhaust port, and there can be exhaust leak problems. The Aussies are supposed to have a larger mounting surface. I don't know myself about the 2V head to 4V headers, but I do know that 4V heads to 2V headers will leak like hell. I tried that once.
