I am getting a squeek when I hit a bump or when pulling into drive way and going over the small curb at the edge of the drive. The sound is coming from the rear of the truck (spring or shock). What could be the problem and how do I check it?
I use my truck to tow a travel trailer and was wondering if this is some of the cause.
Thanks

Have a look at the insulators between the springs. They are a nylon or teflon material and wear out and then the leaves rub together. To verify if that's the problem you can spray some grease or oil in between the leaves and see if the noise goes away.
You should be able to get new insulators from your dealer. There are a couple different sizes though so take an old one along.
To remove them you jack the truck up and put stands under the frame so the springs are unloaded. Then you pry the springs apart and you should be able to pop out whats left of the insulators. To install the new ones you start the "peg" of the insulator in the hole in the spring and tap it in usually by hitting the spring below it. If you don't get it quite the whole way in it will probably finish going in when you drive it.
