My wife's 99 explorer sport with the 4 liter SOHC quit on her
tonight. Luckily she could walk home. It'll start and idle but as soon as you put it in drive it'll start to stall. The "check engine"
light is on but all fluids are good and nothing seems out of the ordinary except the vacuum line on the right rear of the intake was collapsed, I replaced it but the truck still does the same thing.
If anyone has an answer, please let me know. Thanks....
If you rev the motor in park, do you get consistent rpms, or does the engine break down?? As you put it in drive, what happens if you goose the throttle, will it run better or make no difference and stall??
Good questions, When you rev up in park, it'll stammer and then smooth out once the rpm's get up there. Also when in drive if you try to give it gas, it stalls. Are you on to something? I hope so. I'll be waiting for your reply. Thanks.........
