Rough idle when first put into gear??
The last couple of months I have been noticing that my truck with almost stall when I first put it in gear. It runs very rough but only for a few seconds (like 2 -3). I thought maybe bad diesel so I have run several different tanks with different brands but no difference. This will happen when cold and after it is warmed up. Like I said, it will act like it's going to die but only for a couple seconds and then it smooths out.
Any ideas?

is the oil level over full??
it sounds like a problem w/ a sensor, because the ficm shouldnt let it drop rpm like that

I had the same issue intermittant since I bought my 04 back in march, The past few weeks started getting worse, it would drop the RMPs and jump right back up sitting in park and was even surging while driving under 25mph it would launch the truck forward. The problem became more frequent but of course was always fine when it was in the shop. I hated to do it but I had the dealer do the latest flash last thursday and so far I have not had the problem in a week and truck has been running great, So for me it seemed to be the fix,, I did loose my Pilot Injection with this new flash but seemed to gain a little more power and smoother throtle response,,

I let it alone for a while myself as I didn't want the flash either but it was getting worse so I went with the flash and have been happy now not worring about the truck not running right , The engine is louder now at idle but not very noticeable inside cab. no different at all cruising down the road, but truck is running great.

Do you think one of the superchips or predator would cure it? I was thinking of installing one anyway since most folks speak so positive about them. I have not noticed it getting any worse, it just bugs me that it's doing it period on a $50K truck!

Matt1751--I think you'll actually LIKE the latest flash--it and the Predator improved my mileage greatly (from 16.5 to 21 highway--18 average) hand calculated! Engine is very much louder, but runs soooooo much better--but then I've never had anything but a small surging issue when cold and the flash cured that. Mine is an 04F250--engine prod date of 10/23--no egr and throttle plate gone
