Restoration almost complete
the truck was purchased from the original owner (AZ-where I live too) and had a fire in the engine/cab.
1. I Replaced the cab, cab mounts, sterring column, front and rear glass, new driver and passenger anti-rattle kits. new cab was painted white and has a truck bedliner kit in it, should help with noise. The only trouble I had was finding a seat. I did finally get an older seat just so I could drive it back to Michigan.
2. The outside of the truck was painted with a "mustard Green" yeah I know it is a camo color....I want to paint it camo at a later date. The original color was a two tone yellow and white. Bedliner was applied to the inside of the front fenders, bottom of the cab, bottom and inside of bed. The fender wells have been repainted.
3. I rebuilt the engine...wife was awesome, she helped! It has a 360 (5.9 Liter) bored .030 over (very little wear on the old nickle iron block, but it has a little rust from the fire/water hose
. I rebuilt the Holley that came with the engine, that is where I found the problem. It had a pin hole leak in the back bowl and was shooting fuel about 3 feet out of the side. That is what caused the fire. Anything else that needed replacing was, radiator, carb, etc4. This is the real kicker...I have everything put together, however there is a problem with the Transmission, somehow during the towing of the truck to and from the shop (NP 4spd) the tranny got stuck in third gear. I had to take it to a shop (I am running out of time) and they had to cut the gear off to get the remaining parts out to put on a new shaft. So far in tranny parts, $120.
5. Also I replaced the 16.5" alloy wheels with Amerikan 16" Racing wheels (Black) and Wrangler AT/S tires. Just the short trip to the trans shop has me hungering for more.
by the way, I am a patriot....a decendant of Dutch Immigrants in 1660. I love my country and my family....hope to return home soon as possible. Everytime I drive past an import vehicle
I makes me remember the 407,000 Americans who gave up their futures so Americans could have a choice, too bad those drivers don't appreciate and remember!"Henry" keeping the Faith!

I have been restoring my F-100 and it pleases me to no end to know it was (almost?) 100% built by workers in the USA. Especially now since I know DIW means Detroit Iron Works.
Keep safe and return to enjoy the F-100!
