Removing Intertior Door Panels

How do I do it? I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it at first but then the rubber armrest came off and it looks like the only way to put it back on is by removing the entire door panel because of some screws. I tryed to gently pop the panel off but it wouldn't give so I stopped. How do I do it? Thanx for any help.

First, remove the inside door handle, the window crank, and the little cup inside the rubber armrest if you haven't already. Next, carefully, starting at one of the corners of the door panel, pull it away from the door. The door panel is held on by metal clips which clip on to the door.

I have removed quite a few of these over the years. The best method I have found is to use a door panel removal tool . these are aviable from your local parts store, and are fairly cheap . What I do is to reomove the window crank, door opening pull, and finger cup. Then starting at the top gently pry the door panel with the tool. What you need to do is to find where exactly the door clips are holding the door panel to the door. You need to put the tool exactly where the clips are. you only need to pry enough to pop each clip. Where you need to be most cautious, is the middle of the door panel . They are prone to crack right in the outer lip , in the middle of the door panel.

If by some chance,(which is very likely) you happen to break the plastic that is holding the metal clips to the door panel , you can pickup some modern plastic door panel holding clips. you may need to enlongate the plastic to seat the clips, but other than that your only option is to buy a new set of panels.

good luck....

I got the panels off and only brok one clip but a bunch fell on the ground and they were the same colour as the dirt so I couldn't find them all. But i got it back together fine and solved the problem.I'm just happy that I didn't break the door panel so I can deal with a missing clip.

Those little plastic pushpins always break. you should be able to find plenty at one of the sponsored sites. I cant imagine they would be terribly expensive and Im sure the ones made now are far better than the ones made then. If you cant find any send me an email I might have a few (hundred) laying around

i hate my door panels. they are broken and holding in place by screws.

however taking them off should be easy. pop in and out. course they could be old and break. again that was my problem.

I will just not top of my list for now. Like I said good enough for now and it doesn't look good but they don't stand out and no one notices till I show them I'll get it don't worry.
