I'm working with a tight budget here so I was planning on adding an 8" Bazooka tube. The only problem is that I took some preliminary measurements of the under seat (rear seats) and I don't think it will fit. Can anyone verify if it will fit or not?
I guess I could go with a 6" tube, but I don't know if it would be worth it at that point...
The rest of the system will include Pioneer 2-way 6x8 @ 150W, 3-way 6x8 @ 180W and an Alpine 9827 deck.
As you can see, I'm not looking to blow the doors off, I just want to shake the mirrors a little bit with some good sounding music. Not interested in high volume.
no it wont i had the same problem with mine....i will give you the dimensions of the boxes i have under the rear seats if you want? they hold 1 8" sub each and they sit under the seat with enough expansion room between the sub lip and the seat bottom for excursion on the sub. ext cabs are a pain in the butt to get subs in under the seat with the space they provide.....i can also take pix of the boxes for you if needs be...they are about to come out anyways heck ill sell em to ya 2 brand new chrome basket 8" subs in 3/4" MDF built by me airtight boxes. im about to put in 6 kicker 15's after the rear seat removal.
1 - 6" Bazooka
2 - Build my own box and buy an amp (I've got a line on a free 8" sub)
3 - But your setup. How much are you thinking? Feel free to drop me a PM if you don't want to post it here...
ill put the pix of the boxes in my gallety if you wanna see em......i may just send you the plans on how to do it yourself all u need is some MDF or particle board, a jigsaw and some silicone calking....mine are pretty kool and they sound great for a pair of 8's
Cool, thanks! I appreciate it! I don't think the plans are necessary. It looks pretty simple.
To start with, I'm only gonna have one 8". I'd like to put it under the rear seat behind the driver (where the factory CD changer is now) but I don't know if it'll fit. I need to contact someone at Pheonix Gold and see what size box they recommend. If not there, I guess I'll have to find a new spot for my jack and put it on that side.
np, see my jack goes under the pass seat, the boxes i have will fit under your seat as well....and if you are running a Phoenix Gold 8" sub the airspace in the box i made should be suffecient. The only subs i have a problem with are kickers i love em but they are picky about being airtight and certin amounts of space/sub....unless you run the Solo-Barics then they are a bit more forgiving....hope you have lots of luck puttin the box in bro lemme know if i can help ya out
i have a 03 ford will teh split back seat, and teh stereo shop here can fit 2 10 inch subs with a depth of 6 inches for subs, I currently have two 12 inch kickin behind the drivers seat, facing towards the passenger side, really loud, i like
I'm just finishing the box right now. All I need is some carpet. I was able to get a free 8" sub from a friend and a used amp from another friend, so I decided to go that route.
I talked to the speaker manufacturer and they recommended 1 cu ft of volume for the speaker box. I wanted to keep the jack in it's spot and I figured I'd put the amp where the CD changer is (easier to run the power cable down the side of the truck). So, in order to get a box with 1 cu ft to fit under the middle of the rear seat, I had to make an "L" shaped box.
I just screwed it together last night and did a trial fitment. Hopefully by the weekend I'll be able to use it!
