Hey guys. I am gonna be putting on a new exhaust, and possible a programmer for the expy soon. I want to go with true duals on the expy. Is there a kit out there, or will I need to get it custom bent? Also, what do you guys recommend for the best programmer? Thanks. BTW, its completely stock 5.4 2k EB edition
Chris, I'd get customs if I were doing the duals to my rig. I haven't heard of any pre-fabbed "true" duals.
I've got the superchips programmer and love the improvements. When I purchased mine a while back, it was the only "tuner" available and I haven't kept up with the newer models so there might be a better one out there (but I doubt it).
Thanks for the advice. I remember reading about the exhaust systems a while ago, but didn't pay much attention to it. I am thinkin on goin with 3 inch, and it looks like there is room under the passenger side tunnel to fit 2 mufflers in.
How much "seat of the pants" power did the tuner make? I am thinkin it would be nice to have for more power, as well as the code reader, and adjust the speedo for tire size. Other than that, I am not sure of the benefits. Like I said, I never really paid attention to posts about the tuners and exhaust. Thanks for the help Jim.
I just had the magnaflow cat back/magnaflow cats/and Gibson headers installed and it sounds great with better power too. We gutted the "pre" cat" (easier to hook to headers that way), welded in the new magnaflow cats, kept the stock, nice, mandrel bent stainless pipe going to Y pipe, then we bolted on the cat back. You won't gain diddly by going duals all the way back. The 3 inch is fine. I like the Superchip also.

I noticed the performance gain, albeit it is relatively modest (it's not like adding a big cam and a 4bbl carb like in the old days). The tuner is fairly flexible. One can change shift points and firmness, compensate for different tire heights, read codes, etc.
