New System Help
I would like to replace the stock exhaust on my 2000 F.250 4x4 with one that growls, dual pipes would be nice, it has a 5.4 V8 in it, if i put some large dual pipes on it, would it have a nice sound to it, i have local laws that say i need to have the muffler on, should i get a dual pipes with mufflers on both pipes or just one with dual outlet, i want it to be as loud as those chevies and dodges i see go down the road, will it get loud but still pass inspections? please help!

I wouldn't change out your pipes unless you done considerable performance gains to the engine. I would just get a good catback exhaust system. The original Flowmaster 40 series is pretty loud and maybe the sound your looking for.

I did a cat back swap on my '03 F150 Screw, back in May. Single inlet, with dual 2 1/2" pipes exiting from under the rear bumper. I started with the Flowmaster kit #17222 which comes with a 50 series SUV muffler that I scrapped less than a month later, and changed to an original Flowmaster 40 series muffler. After about a little more than a month with the 40 series, the truck is sounding great. The exhaust note is really starting to get noticeable, even at idle, and I love the look of the dual pipes from the rear.
