Murphy's Law
Week #1 (Saturday):
Was working on cleaning up my MAX IV 6-wheeler and it came out of gear, started rolling down the driveway with me hanging on to it (I was literally skiing on asphalt) as it hit and slid down the passenger side door. Result: 2 foot long crease in the bottom of the door panel.
Week #2 (Sunday):
My 11 year old gun nut son and I were plinking with .22's. We decided to find out what happens when you shoot a CO2 cartridge. The first one blew up with a nice bang. On a repeat try, the second one wasn't penetrated by the little .22 bullet, but a dent was made that decreased the volume of the cartridge enough to increase the pressure inside it and blow off the cap. Result: these little things become serious missles, and you guessed it, struck the top of the left front fender of my truck - three small dents about 1/4" deep within an area about 4" in diameter.
Week #3 (This past Sunday):
Due to some powerful storms in our area of late and the rural electrical cooperative that serves us having had lots of problems with downed powerlines, the right-of-way folks have been doing some serious limb clearing in our area. They don't always clean up their mess. Yes, I saw the pile of leaves in the road, but they were covering up the chunk of "firewood" that I ran over and got lodged between the back of the nerf bar and the bottom of the bed side panel in front of my left rear wheel. Maybe I can get some of the metal kinks out of this area, maybe not.
Maybe in this case, the third time's the charm and I won't "hurt" my truck anymore for a while. Maybe I should park it in the lower forty for a while?
