(iat) Intatake Air Temp. Sensor

when changing to a afe or similar air filter, where do you install the IAT sensor? if in the side of the box, do you just leave it exposed and open?

I just left mine tucked away under the new filter.

i put a airaid intake on mine and i just left it in the stock position in the bottom of the box

Yea I put an AFE intake on my truck, that just replaces the lid and not the whole airbox. So mine stayed in the stock place in the box too. If you're completely replacing the stock airbox then I imagine you'd want to mount it near where the filter gets air.
