Quick Missoula meet

I'm going to meet Opiewan in Missoula at the truck stop Thursday evening to get that tailgate to him. I think he said the truck stop at the 96 mile marker which would be Reserve St.?? I think. 4B's restaurant is right there. Anybody else want in on this? I'll buy the coffee.

I have to get back that night, so it's a short turn around. Let me know.

Michael

p.s. the only truck stop i know of in missoula is right there where highway 93 hits I-90 at Muralt's Travel Plaza...i don't remember if there's a 4B's there or not...

It sounds like it would be a fun trip, but I have to be at work that Friday morning at 8. Unless you are talking about tomorrow nite. Call me tomorrow..249-2287 and let me know the specifics of the time going and returning. I'll sleep on it..and ask the wifes permission. ( rules.... ).

I'm on my way out the door - work in Marion today. Then plan to leave for Missoula about 4:30 or 5. This is just a day trip - I have to be back here for Friday AM too.

We finally got our stories straight. We're meeting at Muralt's truck stop (93 & I-90) between 7 and 8 pm tonight. I'll be driving the 48 pickup if my road test today goes OK. I've been fiddling with the distributor and idle screws lately. I'll check this post just before I head south.

He called me, but the wife had called just a bit before and told me we were having Pizza for dinner and did I have it ordered yet? I had barely hung up when Tim called ready to go.... ..... ..... grrr....oh well..another time perhaps. Its lucky I didn't go...the wife was in a dither tonight, to get some things done. Amazing how they can come up with things when you want to do something on your own.

Marriage......

I'm back! Opiewan has the tailgate and we had a great, short visit. Sorry you guys couldn't make it work. Michael, at 9:40 I was starting back north.

I was a bit late - when he said between 7 & 8, he meant Central time. Also, I found there are TWO truck stops at that exit, but finally we connected.

At the first truck stop I woke some guy up in a rig with a "flatbed covered with a blue tarp" that had Iowa plates.......wasn't Opiewan. OOPS!

The 48 ran smooth and steady, down and back on a tank of gas. 250 miles on 14 gallons - not bad for a 53 yr old engine (51 Merc flatty).

dang, tim...that's almost 18 miles to the gallon....very impressive for somethin that old...cool deal...i think my truck might finally be gittin decent mileage....now that the timing is somewhere near where it needs to be, and the fact that i put brand new spark plugs in a couple weeks ago....i'll get to find out sunday just what i am getting now for mileage....me and my uncle are goin fishing down the swan, and takin my truck...just gotta git that exhaust donut replaced...lol....my uncle's a dodge fan....he gits 14 mpg outta his 75 dodge 360 and 4 spd w/ like 3.91 (i THINK) gearing...oh...and full-time 4 wheel...it's an old dodge w/ like 215,000 miles on the motor...it's still doin pretty dang good....keep in mind that prior to changing out the spark plugs, i was getting roughly 7.7 mpg w/ my 300-6...i'll post and letcha'll know where i'm standing at now...
