Expedition Ignition Issues

I have a 98 Expedition with some sort of ignition issues. A few weeks back I had the plugs changed and replaced the ignition coils and the problem seems to be worse. Had mechanic run a check (diagnostic machine, computer, check plug connections, etc) and he said he thought it was short on power but the computer did not show a problem. I had similar issues almost a year ago and new plug wires seemed to clear the problem up. Is it possible that my wires have crapped out? Any thoughts, suggestions, etc.
