Thumbs up Tire Size

What's The Widest And Tallest Tire I Can Put On My Stock 2001 Ranger Xlt 4x4 Off/road 3.0 W/the 16x7 Stock Wheels On It.

My best guess would be 31x10.50x16's...bigger than that, especially wider than that you will more than likely have rubbing issues....

Do a quick search. This has been covered a ton of times. With 16x7's, you should be able to put 265x75/16's on with no problem. I see quite a few stock rangers with them, they're slightly taller than a 31x10.50/15. You'll probably notice a small loss of power when increasing tire size, especially with a 3.0.

Is it true that you need to do something to your spedometer after you put on bigger size tires/rims?

You can either have your computer re-programmed for your bigger tire size by the dealer, here in Houston they charge $80 for this, or just live with it. I havent had mine fixed, but I know exactly how far off it is at the difrent speeds. The only advantage to not having it corrected is your odometer will show less milage than you actually have -
