cmp sensor part number question

I think my truck needs the sensor, however in searching for the info on the part number, I am confused as to what my truck requires. I have a 2001 F-250. On the link that I found, the part # is listed as after certain vin #'s you need this part, and before you need this part....I am confused after looking at my vin # as to which I need....

Sorry to sound like an idiot,

Eric

It's not based on the VIN#, but the engine serial number. Buy the part for the higher engine serial numbers based on THIS link. The switch was made sometime in the 1997 model year.

cool, thanx. I was thinking that the higher number was correct, due to my engine being made after 1997, but i was unsure. Thanks again for clearing it up.
