did any of the big broncos ever come with deisel's?

Not, they have never come with diesels. You have to figure the bronco is, in essence, a shortened F150. Ford hasnt offered a diesel in this truck before, although thats not to say that someone hasnt retrofitted one. If this is something you want to pursue further, you should search like Kem suggested. That topic has popped up numerous times, and there is some good information on such a swap listed.

just checking for sure I have seen a few "bronco's" with diesel's in them for sale in local paper's

i think your getting them confused with the Centurion models. they were F350's with the bed removed and a bronco cut and welded to the end. but have not ever seen or heard of a regular bronco with diesel motor in it they are just not sturdy enough. the frame,suspension and running gear are far to weak.
