Anyone have some pointers for replacing the passenger side window motor? I bought a new one and tried to install it over the weekend, but I can't figure out how to remove the old one. I know there are 3 bolts holding it in, but I can't determine what type of head they have. There's just not enough room to see inside there....
Thanks in advance for any help

I,ve replaced the gear in my window motors on my 93 Explorer and my 89 Thunderbird. In both if you drill in the panel where the dimples are located you can place a socket directly on the bolt. Instead of replacing the whole moter. Just remove the plate over the plastic gear. Clean out the area, replace the metal gear back over plactic gear in the moter and fill space between two gears w/ JB weld. Much cheaper than buying a new moter. when most of the time it is the plastic gear which has disintegrated.
You can pull these gears out and clean them. But set them back in place over the spindle to epoxy them together. before they dry you will have to lift them off the spindle to make sure they do not stick to the spindle.
Also make sure the dimples in the inside panel are the ones in front of the bolts. Learned this from a window installer.
My dad has my T-Bird and I still have my Explorer have not had problems since.
