Yeah, but I have heard the Sprint walkie talkie feature is not as good as Nextel's.

That's great...
now he can make EVERYONE within shouting distance mad when they have to listen to BOTH sides of a conversation when they really don't want to hear either side !!!

I'm an ardent cell phone user...
Had one of the orignal bag phones back in the early 80's....

but, Kin u tell I'm not a fan of the Nextel beep either ????
Sitting in a quiet restaurant when one of those goes off and guess this guy is ttrying to "impress" everyone.... wasn't aware that EVERYONE in the place grimaced at him until after 10 mins the waiter asked him to take it outside !!! and most applauded !

I have the Canadian equivalent of the Nextel walkie-talkie. The company is Telus. When I am at work I use it all the time. If it is after hours or I am in a public place I turn my external speaker off and use the walkie-talkie through the ear piece. Just common courtesy.

I hate cellular phones with a passion. I won't ever own one, and I don't call people with them....

No you can't. BUT, if you still have a while left on your plan it might be worth it to cancel your Rogers Plan (they will charge you) and sign up for a Telus plan. If you are going to sign up for the Mike phones, I would recommend only signing a 2 year contract. You can get a phone right now discounted if you sign the contract and then 2 years later you can resign and get a NEW phone discounted. Good deal!

I don't know how it works up north. But what I did when I wanted to change plans was I took the cheapest plan my current company had instead of paying a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee was going to be $250 U.S. dollars. I only had 7 months left on my plan and the cheapest plan they had was only $10 dollars a month. So that saved me about $180 dollars.

my cell company were butt monkeys and didnt tell us that they had recalled our phones 6 months earlier and that we could not get a new phone unless we paid a 250 dollar bill crap and theres 3 of us my mom my dad and me so we had to all get phones
but we have insurance on our phones to were we pay 50.00 dollars to get a new phone incase of losing it
so i walked out into the parking lot and ran the phone over about 6 times and walked back in side and saved 200 and alittle bit of fun came along with running it over

I agree that the nextel 2-way feature is a good thing, especially now that they just went world wide with it. And i agree with most of you here.....my phone is ALWAYS on vibrate and I use the "private" feature to have discussions if in public, thats just common sense and showing enought respect for those around you. Everyone can see you have a nextel, no need to show off and have it beep, whether its in a resturant or a movie....drives me nuts!
