just placed order for this system.kenwood kdc-mp925 head unit, q-forms kick panels with alpine type-x spx-137a,alpinesps-570a for rear doors, and kicker resolution r-13 for windshield pillars.for 2002 f-150 screw 4x4.main concern is imaging and soundstage, how close am i.
Get rid of the tweeters in the pillars, and you should be good to go. Keep the mids and tweets in the same place. A good EQ (not the in-dash kind) will help even more.
Disconnect the stockers, mount the mids and tweets in the kickpanels, and amp them. A little Dynamat or similar damping sheet and a small sub, preferably in a sealed box would help a lot too
i got my inspiration for my tweeter placement from the BMW i owned it came out nice and clean but wasnt overpowering, it was on the door where the pillar met the window sill facing ever so slanted upwards to reverb off the roof...the ones i had in my show truck were awesome and kept the large quanity of subs proportioned for high range sounds
tweeters on the a pillar are a good idea, just aim them so they fire into the winshield and that they are the same distance from your ears as the woofers. i've found on mine about 1/3 the way up is just about perfect.
