Leaving Ignition Switch On Without Starting Engine
2003 F150 4.6 4wd 5spd- I know with the older ignition systems leaving the ignition switch on without the engine running would burn points on the old ones and overheat ignition modules on some of the later models but I've been told that with the new electronics it doesn't hurt anything to leave the switch on-engine off to run accessories such as radio etc. Does anybody know for sure? it would cure my annoying chime noise when I listen to the radio with the driver's door open. I've already defeated the key in switch chime.
