Not sure what a "Hoppy" wiring kit is but I can tell you that trailer light kit for 91-94 Explorer is NOT the same as ranger. Explorer kit for one not equipped with tow package connects into the wiring connector at the left rear light assembly and has a tail at least 4 feet long. The Ranger kit is designed to connect into the wiring harness that passes under rear of bed and has much shorter tail than Explorer kit.

Hoppy kits are universal wiring kits. They will work on any vehicle. I had the same four prong Hoppy that my friend has on his Dodge Ram. Everything you need to hook it up is in the package and the directions are real easy. You can check on the part number here...
