Only being married for 18 years doesn't add up to much on this thread. So discount the wife! 
My mother had her first refrigerator up until about a year ago. My parents had this 1950 Crosley Selvadore for over 50 years. Being used as a secondary fridge, it kept beer and wine cool done in the cellar for decades. I think it was 5 feet tall and weighed 300lbs! The freezer was an 10 inch cube hanging inside the fridge.
