Angry Da*n It!

HERES THE DEAL! some ignoramous rear ended me today in my 2001 7.3. although the damage doesnt look real bad (my trailer hitch was on) she hit me extremely hard w/her stang and there was A LOT OF FORCE that ran through my vehicle. dont believe me, go take a look at her front end(hehehe). anyways, my bumper sags a little, but the trailer hitch, which is bolted to the frame of the truck absorbed 100% of the force and im worried there might be some damage done to the frame. im also a little conerned about the transmission. can anybody out there give me some advice as how to make sure i do all the nessesary things to keep my truck around another 200,000 miles and not get SCREWED by an insurance company trying to keep costs low. cuz there doesnt appear to be much damage on the outside but im extremely worried about the internal damage done to my baby!!!

I feel your pain, I have been rear ended twice with my bumper saver big drop hitch in place, both times hard. I have been lucky that I have a HD 6pin drop hitch, and that ate em up instead of getting to the bumper. I was worried about the same thing, but it did not even bend my hitch attatchment so sounds like you got a lot harder lick than the two I did. Both of mine destroyed the vehicles, one a POJ Pontiac, and the other a Chevy truck. I don't know why they cant see that big truck stopping, maybe for the safety of others we should raise them up some more. For the good of the nation.
