Map Lights?
Hello, does anyone know if the map lights in the upper console are supposed to come "on" when the door is opened? I realize there is a switch in the console to turn the map lights on but I was wondering if they are switched with the door. 1995.
I am trying to diagnose a problem that I'am having as the lights are not working at all and from what I have found it looks like it will be the circuit board for the temp and compass as the power and ground wires for the map lights head into it.

Good luck

The reason they do not work is for sure the small printed circuit board in the upper console. Power for the map lights comes from the fuse and the "ground" is supplied via the circuit board and thus the switches both left and right. Man, what a bummer...also I see no visible sign of any wires that would cause the map lights to go on with the doors open. The dome lights do for sure but not likely the map lights. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that but that is the way I see it.
Now, I just have to find a damm printed circuit board.
P.S. I did the throttle cable upgrade today and it did improve the throttle response off the line, no more lag. I checked the throttle plate before and after and no difference there.
