I want to put air conditioning in my 72 F-250. I've found the stock air conditioning unit that runs along the entire length of the under side of the dash but it's a little bigger than I wanted. Anyone know of any good aftermarket air conditioners out there that'll work with our trucks that's not quite so large? I've done all kinds of web searches but I can't seem to find anything. Any help would be appreciated!
JakeisK98,
Check out oldairproducts.com , They have aftermarket systems that are very similar to originals and they have custom units that are much smaller. They are pricey though!
or you could watch ebay, mostly what you have, is what is being sold there!
Good Luck
Sorry to but in like this, but rather create a total new thread, I thought I might ask a question sense it's related to this topic anyway.
The person that started this thread was asking about a 1972 Truch, well the information provided so far is helpful however I have had a little more trouble.
I own a 1968 Ford F-250 that has a 1967 352 V8 in it at the moment, this truck has no hardware companets for A/C in it anyway and it's a good truck to drive, but it will kill ya in the summer time sense I live in Phoenix, AZ. Any thoughts, comments, ideas, as to where I can go and find what all it might cost me to get A/C installed into this tank on the road? Please be advised that I will have a mechanic install the stuff for I have no vehicle smarts in me other then the basic mainentance an vehicle needs.
Hey Shrike, I live in Tucson. Just drive faster with the windows down. Also, bring a Windex bottle and spray your face with water as you sail down those Phoenix byways. If they look at you funny at the light, adjust the Windex spray nozzle and hit em' right between the eyes, then mash your foot to the floor and return to your face spraying.

Flooring it with the windows down may work, but the cops these days with sooped up Camaros and CB's may cause a little trouble for the truck could easily go past 100 mph. Granted the speed limit is like what 75 outside the city limits it's still speeding. lol (bummer)
Flashing my face with water as I go could help some but if I was going into work, I may need a changed of clothing, but yet I will not want to use trash bags or wear a wet suit for the sole purpose as to keeping dry. Hmmm. then again, the high 100+ heat tempuratures could dry the cloths out it still may make them rickled. I wonder if I could event some on the go rickle remover and use this spray as I drive idea as a new cleaning technique? Na, too much work and that I would have to share the wealth. lol
A pizza oven, no, more like a never ending bombardment of heat waves that could easily cause skin cancer, burns, and make your life miserable is more like it. It's worse then the apposite of heaven. Sorry for those readers that are religious. :-(
Anyway, thank you all again for your help in this matter. I am sure I will be able to cool off one way or another and get the parts I need.
