ok, so this weekend i went and picked up some 2 inch blocks for the back and a set of spring boosters for the front. I put the coil spring boosters in and they had a good lift but........the camber on the tires were pretty bad i mean they were riding like this: \ / meaning that the top of the tire was out more than the bottom of the tire. I took those out and didn't even put the blocks in because I wanted to talk to the "GODS of BII's" (you guys) first! I mean this was just going to be a temp lift until I can find some extra cash to buy an actual lift kit (Rough County - any comments on that one compared to any other), so its not a big deal but I just don't like the stock height. Is there any suggestions for this or what should i do? Thnx guys, and maybe girls!
I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of the major kits. It all depends on what you want out of the lift. Some kits are designed to you better articulation and will require replacing many of the suspension components to achive a desirable geometry, "Why you front tires were doing this \ / ".
But there is also the Body Lift. These kits are relatively inexpensive and will allow you to run a larger wheel and tire combo without having to worry with changes to suspension geometry. They are pretty straightfoward to install with moderate lifts of 2" - 3". But you will have some modifications of shifter, steering, possibly brake and electrical if you wanna get crazy.
Ok buddy here's what you do... just put in the blocks in back and leave it that way until you get the real lift kit. Most B2's are saggy in the back now so the 2 inch lift will correct that. I have 2 inch blocks in the back,nothing in front, and it only sits a bit higher than the front.. you can barely tell unless its on a really level surface. I fit 31 inch tires without any problems.. they only rub when theres three or four people in the back seat and i hit a gutter without slowing down, or when im cruising down dirt roads that arent exactly meant for things bigger than ATV's. Now heres the main thing though.. are you lifting it to go wheelin' or just for looks??? The reason is because you dont need any more lift to go wheelin'... i take my bronco up jeep trails and atv trails and make my own trails sometimes and i have never ever ever scraped anything. And its not so high that its tippy when i go on some sides where bigger trucks roll. So the point is, if you wanna take it off road, put in the blocks and save your money for repairs when you break things or a new stereo or more KC lights or whatever. If your liftin it for looks put in the blocks and leave it until you buy the real kit. Oh one last thing. DONT do a body lift. the broncos sit high on the frame already so if you do a body lift you see a big ole' gap between frame and body and it looks really bad. Well i know this is more than two cents worth, but thats my opinion for ya.
