Anyone installed new guages?
Hey all. I would like to replace all the guages in my 04 F150 with some Autometers. I have the STX model F150, so the instrument cluster is rather bland, plus I would really like to a add a Tach to the cluster. Anyone know how difficult it is to wire in aftermarket guages in place of the factory guages? Any tips on how to accomplish this, or even a source with good prices on guages? Thanks in advance.

saw a post about 7 months ago about a guy with a yellow 04STX who replaced his guages with factory FX4 gauges. From what he said, the gauges just plug right up altho you have to get it done by a ford shop as they tightly control sales of new gauges (to keep people from putting a new odometer in a truck with lots of miles). He was from around Idabell Oklahoma, and the local Ford dealer did the swap for about $400. That 's about all i remember. If the report was true, i would much rather pay $400 for the nice FX4 factory setup than any aftermarket setup.
