Front End Thunk
My 96 developed a really loud thunk in the front end when going around corners and driving over bumps. I was thinking that at 110,000 miles it was time for a front end re-build. Then I discovered tonight while looking it over that the **** for the retaining strap on the bottle jack stored under the hood had gone MIA and the jack was rattling around on top of the fenderwell. So for everyone else who may start to panic and think ball joints, bushings, etc. check and make sure the bottle jack is secured.

I have a similar noise. . .
Hey I have a 96 F250 HD and I have heard a noise that sounds like what youre describing. I took it to a 4x4 shop around me and the guy said its jus the ttb moving where they bolt to the leaf springs, Iasked him if this is ok and he said it shouldnt do anything else but if it does to call him about it. Im listing the truck tomorrow for sale so I might not have to listen to it anymore--Dinty01
