Just wanted to make a final post to this thread I started four months ago. I was having a problem with the Traction-Lok chattering after rebuilding the differential. After adding the Slip-Lock friction modifier (and after re-assembling the diff with the side gear thrust washer in the correct location ) the chattering on turns slowly became less noticeable. After about 600 miles the chattering completely disappeared, and now with 1400 miles on the rebuild (including towing a boat 250 miles) the diff is good to go. (Next spring I plan on changing the gear oil and installing a full synthetic gear oil.)
Many Thanks for the help provided by this forum and those who replied to my posts.
