Missing Screw on Warn Hubs

I was checking the pressure in my tires when I noticed one of the screws on the hub lock face is missing! WTF?! Maybe a masked marauder with a utility belt full of allen wrenches molsted my truck, or maybe it just walked out on it's own. I checked all the screws, and all the others are tight. Strange to say the least!

I wonder if this would fall under Warn's warranty on my hubs. . .

I would give Warn a call and see if they can give you a replacement. do people advise using loctite on these threads or no?

Instructions didn't say anything about using loctite, but then again when the hell was the last time you heard of someone losing a hub screw? It's a mystery, kinda like the missing left sock in the dryer.

I'd never use locktite.. you'd never get those allen headed screws out... Then again, I've never had one back out...

I have extras

If you can't find any, I can drop a couple of extras in the mail. Drop me an e-mail, and I'll send 'em to you.

ya same here....i bet i have a drawer full of'em. you can find them pretty easily though at specialty nut and bolt places on-line. i replaced all mine with star headed screws for a better grip and less chance of stripping them out

I bet it's not missing, but broke off...
My buddy Ryan's 84 F150(with welded front diff) practicly ate the allen bolts, it'd snap them off just inside the cap, for no apparent reason.

Sounds like the little bearing on the inside of the spindle was bad. I have been down that road before, Had a truck that didn't have the bearing in it at all and was eating lockouts and the bolts.

Service removable loc-tite for small fasteners works good. No need to heat it up to get the screws out. All loc-tite is not created equal.

Nope, that definatley was not the problem, when it started breaking the bolts, the lockouts, wheel bearings, and spindle bearings were brand new...
Doesn't matter now... Truck's long dead...
