a/c problem?

The temps finally warmed up again in wisconsin....turn on the a/c. Now my check engine light is on. Happened earlier in the summer as well. If I run for a while with the a/c off...check engine light goes out. Turn on the a/c again...check engine light comes on within 10 miles of driving. Any thoughts?

You need to pull the trouble codes to find out why the CE light is coming on, Autozone will do it for free. What year is this?
