lighter outlet access
I just bought a new EB explorer - I need an extra power outlet. In the forward part of the center console there is a little tray depression that is covered by a rubber cover. Lifting this (it is not attached) shows a punch out plug that looks a lot like an opening for an extra lighter type outlet. My problem is how easy is it to get at the under side of this plastic console housing so that I could just run a couple of wires from the regular console outlet which is only about 6 inches away. I have no problem with the wiring aspect but don't want to damage the plastic console by unscewing something I should leave alone.ANy thought s would be appreciated.

Just curious, is there a particular reason you don't want to simply get a 2 or 3 way spliter from a local parts store, department store, or Radio Shack. I'm not sure how difficult is is to get into the console. My '03 has an auxilary power outlet approximately mid way back on the console. Since you'll probably want to tap into the existing wiring there's no power supply advantage over using a splitter.
