Nice try, Mike. We filed a 32 page response with the BBB including every last email we've exchanged with you. They have very much received it and I spoke with our BBB rep today to verify. She also assured me we had handled the situation with you properly. Thankfully, your own words in those emails made the case clear. We didn't need to add much. Either you have totally fabricated the above quote or whoever you received the letter from was sadly out of the loop. I suggest you try contacting them again and get your story straight.
The BBB logo on our web site means everything, and our customers appreciate that. I'm sorry you feel the need to discredit the Better Business Bureau. We're in our sixth year of business and our third year as a BBB member. We have a spotless record, which will remain that way, I assure you.

its nice to be able to see both sides of a story, however, i think it inappropriate, to have people joining FTE just to save face for their company
-My 2 cents
That isn't too fair. No one actually knows why he joined FTE. Could possibly be he drives a Ford and gets a ton of info about his truck just like I do. He may know all about bed covers but know nothing about mechanical stuff and what better way to find things out than to join FTE. Just my 2 cents worth

I don't think it was inappropriate at all. Here was a company that was wanting us to hear both sides of the story. Then you can make your own conclusions. I don't think he was trying to "save face" at all.
linus. that link is exactly what i ran into with the stinking cover. all the way from taking off work, to unanwsered phone calls and emails. if you look closely at their advertisement, they had a picture of a maroon ford pickup with an extra piece riveted to the tracks, to give the track more bearing on the bed rails. i really feel like the cover, as i said before is a total POS, even more after reading that link. it describes my experience with this cover to the letter. oh, but they did make sure to let me know in the installation manual, that the reason for their success is GOD. i guess that means that these covers are the best, i'm the one with the problem. live and learn, and let others know the truth.
I am thinking of buying one of these....but i dont want a cover that leaks.....i plan on using the space in my bed to store stuff.......has this issue been resolved as far as the leaking or shoul di look elsewhere?? any opinions for a hard bed cover from anyone??
Hey crimsontide, I don't know if you read all the other posts, or visited http://www.geocities.com/peragon_cov...iew/index.html, but i'm sure the cover still leaks. The design emphasis is on folding - not water tightness. FYI, I complained to my credit card company about the cover I got from Peragon and I won. Didn't have to pay a dime.
There is an EPDM rubber seal between the folding panels the keeps the leaking to a minimum until the seal wears out. The big leak is at the sides where the bearings ride in the track. Bottom line is, and the peragon web site says this, if you want to keep the stuff in you're truck dry you need a one piece lid that hangs over the sides of the truck bed. Something like an ARE fiberglass cover would do it.
You're making me real happy I didn't buy this one after all. I had tried to order one for mine and they told me I would have to wait 6 weeks for delivery, I only had 10 days as I needed it befor I left California for Chicago. I started checking into it and found out it would not open unless i took out my fuel tank. I called and cancelled the order then called A-Z trucks in Arizona. They found me a Jackrabbit roll up cover and had it dropped shipped to me in 2 days. I've had it on since September and have found the only leaks besides a dent in the top of the bed were back at the tailgate which I fixed by putting on the seals they sent with the top. It's a segmented aluminum cover like on a comercial garage door. This is covered with the same material used on truck tarps and uses rubber sweep seals along the sides. They say it is not water tight but I have yet to have any more than minor problem even with snow setting on it and melting. It has 12" between stops so you can open up just part or roll it all the way into the box and you loss about 10"in the front of the bed.
But as a shop owner and installer... I have seen a few of these covers and am pretty unimpressed...
I far prefer the Fold-A-Cover myself... granted its not the same design but they run $550 delivered and to me are worth it since they are water tight and seem to just be of higher quality all-around.
Otherwise I would recommend either a Roll-N-Lock, Retrax or perhaps even a Pace Edwards cover...
