I was just wondering what any of you thought about this Ebay service manual I want to get a service manual for my truck on my computer and this one claims to be from ford, which is what I want. There are others there but they don't say they are from ford so I am not to sure if they are just some bootleg of some chiltons cd or something like that. Also I want to know if this DVD would apply to my truck because it says 2000 - 2004 and my truck is a 99. I know there wasn't much a difference between those years but I don't want to get something and have it screw me over in the end. Thanks
Hi Kyle and welcome to the forum
The genuine Ford shop manual DVDs are what we use at the dealership.
They can be quite tough to follow sometimes as they are written for trained techs but they do have more info than Chiltons or Haynes etc have.
There would be a few differences between the years but most things will be the same.
Kyle, I bought one of the CD shop manuals from missmanuals for $5 on eBay and I am happy with it. Racerguy is correct though, they can be difficult to follow at times. If you check out this link you will find a Ford factory service manual CD on eBay for $3.
I agree, and also that they are harder to use than the paper books. But maybe its just what I'm used to.
I was forced into getting the CD by the cost of the paper shop manuals. I spent quite a lot on what I thought was complete. Then, the first time I needed them, they referred me to a "Driveability and Emissions Manual", which was I think, over $100 more. They really shouldn't make it so expensive to take care of the truck you've already paid good money for. But I guess its just another profit center nowadays.
