what type of fuel injection came on 1990 E250 300 6cyl vans
I've heard there are 2 systems, MAF and MAP (I know nothing about either).
Can injectors on these engine be changed or upgraded like injectors in mustangs can?
I'm thinking about getting my first EFI truck. I've had several disposable 4cyl EFI vehicles but just changed filters and oil until they died. the van might be a keeper so i need to learn about these ford EFI systems.
are ford EFI computers expencive?
are ford EFI computers vehicle specific? (could the whole system be put on a 300 in a truck/bronco for instance?)
I'm not even sure these are the right questions to ask. I feel like a hick looking at a UFO

The E250 will have a MAP EFI system - the main sensor used is the MAP sensor, which senses manifold vacuum. The computer uses other sensors to trim the air fuel ratio, and the O2 sensor to fine tune things. Injectors can be changed, but you will have to have a chip burned, otherwise the fuel ratio will be way rich (if the new injectors are larger). It depends on where you get the computer as to how much it is. The computers aren't necessarily vehicle specific, but they are engine/transmission specific. If you really want to learn about these systems in depth, check out the book Ford Fuel Injection and Electronic Engine Control by Charles D. Probst.
