96 Mazda B4000 4X4 Electrical Problem?
After I drive my truck for a few miles and get it warmed up, stop and turn it off it has trouble starting back up some times. Also, my radio stations will be cleared as if the battery has been disconnected. The battery has one of the green lights to show that it is still charged and it is green. It seems much worse on hot days. Once the truck cools down it will start right back up no problems but the radio stations will be cleared. It starts easily every morning, when I go to lunch and when I leave to go home each day. Once I drive the 30 miles home it has this problem or if I stop on the way home it may not start. If I get a jump from someone it has no problems starting. I am stumped. The check engine light is on and the codes were 401 (egr code) and 1443 (evap system error), will these codes cause this problem?
Have you cleaned your battery termininals and grounds? - Also go to autozone and get your charging system checked out. You probably have a fuse in between the battery and your power distribution system also - check that for cleanliness too. (disconnect you battery before playing with this fuse - It's easy to open this fuse). When a power connection begins to corode it drops voltage across it. As the temp rises the resistance in this connection will rise making a bad situation worse. That may be why you notice it more with a hot engine. I suspect your are getting below some nominal voltage limits for your radio and possbly the fuel relay. Good luck.

The P0401 code is probably a result of a bad DPFE sensor and/or clogged EGR ports.
The P1143 code means your fuel vapor management system is blocked upor not working.
The problems evidenced by these codes can cause your engine to run poorly and inefficiently, and will result in your truck to failing an emissions test.
Try doing a search of this forum using the code numbers as your keywords, you will find some more information that way.
