not too happy
as you's know my 390 developed a knock. well i get it apart and to my dibelief, the machine shop " the one i would love to blow up right now " didn't put my crank back into the motor when thet assembled it. i thought by have them assembly the lower half of the motor it would have been done right. WRONG ANSWER ! the stuck a 360 crank in my truck. my crank was a 2 U , trhey stuck a 2 T crank in it . as i remember reading a thread on good machine shops, well this is not one of them. i guess i really do need a 390 crank now
. this is really upsetting. oh the dual quad set up i've been raving about is only for looks.

Yes you have to be careful about your parts, I have had similar things happen before, now I always write my casting number down and if i can mark my engine and its vital parts somewere, to make sure I get what I took back.
it was darn good ! that 360 went like a bat out of hell !! this would explain all of my tuning problems though ! i really can't wait to feel what a 390 crank would do, i was actually impressed with the motor when i thought it was a 390 !

Take a small center punch and make a tiny dot on the crank flange! Show the dot to the machinist when you drop off your stuff, lets everybody know you are watching. Like Regan says, "trust but verify". Rarely will someone else do as good a job as you will.
