1. the truck feels underpowered with the airconditoner running just makes a lot of noise like its straining to go up a hill but its on level ground
2. the rear veiw mirror is always in the way and i cant see anything coming from the right when going up hill.
3. the seat can not be lowered in my model so i cant see stop lights from the stop line i have to stop one car length back just to see the light then sombody cuts me off just to be first or slouch over the wheel to see when it turns green.
4. the thing stears worse then worse then my old truck when i try to park in a parking lot
Yeah, I think the A/C is a bit weak for the Supercab model. My '04 Edge Supercab takes forever to cool down. Hell, the A/C in my '95 F-150 blows a hell of a lot colder than my new truck (never been recharged too).
I wonder if there are any performance mods for the 3.0. Haven't really pushed the engine, since it's still in the break-in phase.
this is my first car with a (working) a/c and i would have been happier if it didn't take half the horses when ever i turned it on i mean my sisters 92 toyota has more horse power with the a/c on.
Bimmer ese, what is the break in period? I have always driven the truck right out of the box like I drive it everyday. 30 years of pick-up trucks and never had a failure. Todays engines are so much better than yesterdays.
35l911, this is a Ford Ranger, not a 35,000 dollar + vehicle. You only get so much with the Ranger.
I don't know what to make of the A/C problem, but the dealer could probably help. The rearview mirror has an adjustment @the base of the mirror and @the bade of the windshield. I experienced ths same problem as you did until I adjusted the rod to the horizontal position. I can see out the back clearly and also to my right front. I have the same trouble with the traffic lights, but also with the '98 I just parted with. As for parking your truck, was your last truck a regular cab? and is this one a super cab or long bed?
My gripe with the '04 is the loss of two gauges in the dash and no splash guards for the front wheels, and Ford doesn't have them available. I may buy two more "back" ones and try to put them on the front. Happy Motoring.
