My buddies ranger is acting really funny. It idles normally until you drop it into drive and then the idle picks up to about 1200rpm. It then continues to go to normal idle to back up to 1200rpm constantly. He's changed the throtle position sensor and still gets the same result. He's a mechanic and all the guys at his shop can't figure out why it's doing it. Anybody got any ideas????
Still don't know what year, engine, etc., but I would start with a vacuum guage and see what it says. Is the engine making power? And what do you consider as "normal idle"?
