i have noticed than when running on the highway in o/d that when i come to an upgrade the tranny shifts back to drive only i am experiencing a shaking or vibration so to speek. after further troubleshooting i have noticed the same problem at lower speeds in the city. it semms to occur on all downshifts. is this the tranny failing or is it just the torque converter locking and unlocking? money is tight so trying to get some good info so that the fix is the right one.

thanx donald
you said to check tv cable adjustment and vacumm modulater. that would be fine if i knew what i was looking for. not trying to sound like a smart *** just unclear what you are saying and where to look or what to look for.
thanx Donald
The E4OD does'nt have a TV cable or a vacuum modulator so don't worry about them.
Have you checked your fluid? How long since you had the filter and fluid changed?
Clint
i bought truck used so not sure if fluid changed regular or not. it does look a little discolored. i have to assume that it has never been changed and with that many miles a little leary about doing so. i thought about a pan drop and filter change but not sure that will fix it or not . sometimes the downshift is smooth. sometimes it shakes pretty good, that is what led me to believe that torque converter may be at fault. i have tried running highway in just drive but the downshift back to second has some shake to it also.
