need '63 starter

Best place to get a starter for a '63 292??

Whats wrong with yours? Depending on how big your city is, you may be able to take it to a starter/alternator shop and have it rebuilt for about 30 bucks. But your local parts house might be able to help you out if you can get them to look in the books.

you gotta tap it for it to work...not hard, lightly. The starter shop in town did it but town is 120 miles away. NAPA wants about $110 for one. If I brought it to town it would take me 1 trip to bring it and 1 tript to get it. I dont get out much so I was thinking buying a new one might be an easier route.

I guess I should pull it off and see just what it actually needs. Bet you its just brushes.
