My overdrive off light is blinking on my '97 Ford Explorer. I've had it in to the shop and he pulled a code P0741. Based on that he replaced a solenoid. However, after driving another 300 miles or so the light started flashing again -- same code.
I've done several searches and found a couple of threads related to this but nothing with any real specific information. Does anyone know what would cause this code and have any suggestions as to what I should do?
That code means there is an electrical problem with that solenoid OR the wiring to the solenoid. Someone needs to check the wiring to the solenoid that was replaced.
Thanks for the reply Casey. The last two times the light has come on (after the solenoid was replaced) was when I was driving in the rain. I wonder if the electrical connection could be getting wet and shorting out or something. Regardless, I'll have my mechanic check the wiring as you suggest.
