hey...im just a rookie to this site, but i was just wondering since i have the replica lightning body kit on my truck, if i got a single in, duel out flowmaster original 40 series muffler, could i take one of those pipes and turn it down to get the noise, then take the other pipe and route it out the hole in the body kit and put a 1 into 2 tip on is so it would still have the look, but would be louder because of that other pipe.its just an idea to get a louder noise while still keeping the look of my truck. im also unsure if i could get the 3" exhaust or would that be too much...i know our trucks dont come with a 3" exhaust, so would it be compatable? thanks

I originally had the full exhausts out the back but found that all the excessive bends was killing a little hp. So, i cut them off at the muffler with a SawZall. Sounded great but got alot of fumes in the cab. So last weekend I took it to Meineke and had the guy run two pipes out the right side in front of my passenger rear tire. It's not as loud from driving on the drivers side, unless I have the passenger side window down, but I get more power out of it and no fumes. Looks great too.

That's awesome Tom, but throw a few pics of that in your gallery if you can, I wanna check it out.. By the way check my side out exhaust in my gallery, it comes out the right side, no muffler, single piped with a dual tip.

Nice out the side's Homer. Mine are the same except just duals out the side with no tips, just the stainless steel pipes sticking out the side. I'll toss up a photo but it's really no big deal to look at, but it serves a better off-road purpose.

hm to bad I didnt see it earlier, I would hae broken the trend.

the S/C should add 75 as JUST a bolt on...do the proper work and you should doule the engine output......but that means rebuilding the whole motor, forged crank and rods....up the compression, port/polish heads and intake runners. half shaft the TB, get a larger MAF, chip, intake, true dual exhaust, headers w/ temp coating get a smaller puller on the S/C......sure you can actually find a good 500 horsies if you have the money, time and technical know how.....or can pay someone who does.

On top of that, put in 4.56 locker in the back. get aluminum wheels, ditch any chrome wheels you have. put a smaller lighter tire up front, lower the air pressure in the back, get a carbon drive shaft ditch the spare tire, and passenger seat, get a carbon fiber hod, fiberglass fenders. shave of a little thickness from the head light lenses, get a fiberglass windshield, or just get one shaved....professionally. Install a lightweight bed cap with small profile spoiler. Install a short throw shifter and a hood tach. Install fibergalss side windows and rear windows while your at it., perhaps think about chopping the top a few inches to cut on weight and drag. replace power steering with manual steering. Cap front brake lins and remove the front calipers. Install the smallest lightest brakes in the back you can safely put there......

oh sorry, you just wnated to know how much horsepower the S/C kit will add....well here is a list that SHOULD get the truck into the low 10s if not the high 9s......granted, installinga twin turbo instead of a S/C might help also

What's a 4:56 Locker? Do you mean 4:56 pinion gears with the addition of a fully locking differential?

If I were going to do all that work, I'd just buy a used small jet engine and weld it to the bed of my truck and have a jet propelled truck. Seeing that the truck your describing would not be street legal anyways. A used jet engine would probably be cheaper.

Better yet, I think I'll just buy a couple hot dogs and a six pack of bud and sit by the sidelines getting fat and drunk as I watch that truck crash into the wall and catch fire while bursting into a million pieces......wait a minute, i'm already fat and drunk......oh well.
