Help mounting external tach
I have a sport-comp tach I would like to use, and I understand the ground and the signal from the neg side of coil. What I need help with is where I should get the key power on and the headlight power. Thank you so much in advance for helping a clueless Ford'er

I have the instruction manual for installing it. I was more hoping for some hints on where to pick up the signal, for the Key on power and the Headlight power. Sorry i did not explain better to begin with

it has been awhile since i installed one, but you should be able to tap the radio hot for key on power and the ashtray light for lighting. unsure of colors. the ashtray light wire might be lt. blue with red stripe. if you have a test light you can do a little probing to find what you need. if i am giving you bad info maybe someone else will chime in here.

i just took the white wire (lighting) and the red wire (power) twisted them together and ran them to the assy. fuse in my panel, then grounded the black wire. key on, tach and light on, key off,tach and light off. been running like that for a year with no problems.
