Hope I placed this in the correct forum, if not oh well.
Can anyone tell me if the front chassis rail widths are the same or still different between the 2wd & 4X4 in this year series truck?
My truck knowlege is in the 65-79 era.

Come on guys, someone here knows if Ford still used two chassis between 2wd & 4wd in this era. I just bought a 88 swb 4X4 and need a lwb (I got it right at a DWI auction). I need to know if the 4X4 axles can be used under a 2wd truck frame of this era.

There has be a lot of discussion over making 2wd into 4wd. I believe it should be the same as a lot of people have made the conversion. I have a 2wd sb frame (1991 F-150) in my back yard I would be happy to measure for you. Just let me know where you want the measurements taken.
