Need some bigger tires!!
Hey there all new to the forum but have been working on my 76 F250 and Just finished a 6" suspension lift and I am looking to put some new BIGGER tires on it. The shop here in my where I bought the lift kit said that I could put 40" tires on it with the lift they sold me but I need a little help finding any tires the size I need. Also been talking to some other of my buddies and they seem to think that my gears might not work or have a hard time with that big of a tire I have 4.11 gears.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey welcome to the site! yes generally 40" tires call for 4.88 or 5.13 gears. 4.11's are good for 33" tires and 4.56 are good for 35" tires.
What kinda terrain you gonna be wheeling in and what rim size do you have? Then we can help you pick out a tire.

Thanks off road Muddin small rockin and a little hill climbin , My rims a 16.5
lookin for some 40 if it will work with the 4.11s if not i will have to reconsider on changing the gears.

it will work in the meantime with 4.11's but you lose some of your torque. I just bought some 40" ground hawgs and will be putting these on shortly but I need to save for gears I'm looking at getting 5.13's and detroit lockers. Until then its gonna be 4.11's on an open diff.
