The "IT" is a '86 Bronco II. It has the inline 6 (2.9 i believe). 5 speed tranny, 4x4, not bad exterior. Says it needs head gaskets. 116k on the ticker. No battery, alternator ( i think) is laying in the passenger seat.
He wants $500 for it. I havent even called about it yet. Just wanting to know about how much head gaskets are. And any other probloms with this engine/vehicle i should think about.
I am looking for a project vehicle, just not sure if this is it or not.
It seems on this engine (it's a 2.9 V6 rather than an inline 6) that the heads crack before the head gasket blows. Unless the diagnosis has been properly done and the heads have been properly checked, I expect it will need heads.
Other than that, the BII is a pretty good little vehicle. The only thing I have against my BII is that it doesn't quite pass muster carrying the whole family around.
